This article explains how to create and customize a payroll file template or Salary Information File (SIF)
Introduction
Payroll templates are predesigned spreadsheets that help organize, calculate, and track payroll data. Using a template can help with time and efficiency because it contains prefilled information like basic salary, allowances, adjustments and etc according to the requirement.
With the new feature:

Super Admins and Payroll managers can now generate custom payroll files according to their specifications with system information plus additional data points.

These files can be used to process payroll with your respective banks in UAE, submit payroll information to DEWSs, and for other reporting purposes.
Purpose of the feature:

Easily create or edit payroll files saving the time spent during the payroll processing.

Prevent clerical level errors due to manual work done in payroll excels.
How to create a Payroll file template.

Go to Settings.

Click on the Payroll tab

Click the option Payroll File Templates > Create Payroll File Template
At this stage, you will have the option to create a new payroll processing template i.e. Salary Information File (SIF) or a non-payroll processing template.
CREATE A TEMPLATE FOR PAYROLL PROCESSING
Select from a pre-defined template or Upload your existing file to edit and add custom fields.
After selecting a pre-defined template, it allows you to select the sheet and preview it before uploading.
CREATE A PAYROLL REPORTING TEMPLATE
The below steps are used to set up both the Payroll processing and Payroll reporting template.
Step 1: Define your SIF file template
Once you have selected the required template you can start defining the template details like:

SIF template name
-
Payment method
-
Bank name
-
Trade License
This can be used to differentiate between other templates while downloading and submitting transactions.
Step 2: Map Data
Mapping data allows you to match the data fields to the payroll file template you are customizing to capture the data automatically.

Click on the three dots to rename the column, move the column to left/right or delete the column.

Mark the column as an empty field or map the data point from the dropdown list.

If the required column is not reflected you can also create a new payroll custom field to map the data from.

Step 3: Review and Save the template
Review the details assigned and mapped by previewing the file and saving the template.
