As an admin you can create task in 2 ways and assign to relevant assignees.
1. By create task from Task management.
2. By creating a Workflow to trigger automatic task creation.
Step 1: You can navigate to Company > Task Management ( Task Manager ) > Create Task
Step 2: Fill in the required details and confirm the task.
- Name: Start by giving the task a clear name.
- Description: Provide a concise description to outline the task’s purpose.
- Assignee: Assign the task to an individual, team, or specific role responsible for its completion. If multiple employees share the same role, the task will be marked as complete once any one of them finishes it.
- Due Date: Set a deadline for when the task should be completed. You will have different scenarios to map the due date as show in the refrence image below.
Custom date: Pick any date as applicable using the calendar view.
In reference to departure date, hiring date and probation date: This allows you to schedule the due date based on the employees joining details.
- For whom: This field is relevant when the due date pertains to the joining details of a specific employee. Select the employee whose joining information should be referenced to complete the task. This field is mandatory if the due date is selected as 'in reference to'. If multiple employees are added in the "For Whom" field, a separate task will be created for each employee.
- Observers: Add employees who will be notified and can view the task’s progress, keeping everyone aligned and informed.
- Manage tags: You can add relevant tags to help filter the task list more effectively.
Note:You can quickly create tasks by simply entering a name and short description,
with the option to add more details later to ensure important tasks aren’t overlooked. This
flexibility streamlines task management, helping you stay organized and boost productivity.
Step 3: Once all the required details are filled out, your task will be successfully created and appear at the top of the task list, ensuring it is easily accessible and ready for tracking.
You can easily copy the task ID to link and share it with other stakeholders, providing a convenient way to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
Alternatively, you can trigger the task creation with the help of Workflows.
Step 1: Create a workflow.
Follow the steps as linked here to set up a workflow. Refer to the below video for reference.
Step 2: As per the workflow the task is created when the Event takes place. For instance, if the event is
"An employee profile is created" a task is triggered as soon as the profile is added by the Super Admin or People Manager, and Task IDs appear in the Task Manager list.
